Company History

A History of Growth, Innovation, and Responsibility

A.A.N. Japan Co., Ltd. is a Japanese company operating in the field of automotive dismantling and recycling since 2013. The birth and growth of our company are closely intertwined with the evolution of the entire industry—from the early legislative steps of the Japanese government in automobile recycling to international recognition in the markets of the United States, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
2000–2004

The Rise of the Used Car Era

During this period, Japan experienced a boom in the number of used vehicles. The recycling system was not yet established, and the government faced major challenges such as “gray” yards, illegal dismantling, and waste management issues. In these years, Japanese legislators began drafting the Automobile Recycling Act, a law that would later reshape the industry.
2005

The Turning Point

The year 2005 became a milestone for the automotive recycling sector when the Automobile Recycling Act came into effect. Mandatory recycling of airbags, refrigerants, and batteries was introduced, along with an electronic manifest tracking system. This was also the year when the first licensed vehicle recycling centers began to appear across Japan.
2006–2010

Formation and Standardization

This period marked the formation of the modern recycling industry. It was during these years that two brothers — the future founders of A.A.N. Japan — arrived in Japan. While studying the language, they worked with tire collection and noticed the rapid development of the dismantling sector. Initially learning from the international business community, they soon began to dream of building something of their own.
2013

The Foundation of A.A.N. Japan

On April 23, 2013, in Yachimata City, Chiba Prefecture, A.A.N. Japan was founded. Amid an industry shift toward large-scale players, A.A.N. Japan took its first steps — renting its first dismantling yard, obtaining the required dismantling permits and licenses, and laying the foundations of a trusted company.
2015

Relocation to Yotsukaidō — Strategic Base

On January 28, 2015, the company relocated its head office to Yotsukaidō City. Known as a central hub for automotive dismantling, Yotsukaidō offers quick access to Tokyo and Yokohama ports, major expressways, and Narita International Airport. This move turned our dismantling yard into a strategically important point in the industry.
2015–2020

Expansion and Industry Peak

A.A.N. Japan grew rapidly, expanding its team to over 50 employees and gaining recognition in the USA, Russia, Africa, and the Middle East. We invested in heavy machinery, including grapples and hydraulic shears, and in August 2020, installed a hydraulic scrap compression press by Morita Corporation.
2020–2023

Challenges and Resilience

Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and global instability, A.A.N. Japan received multiple commendations for safety and compliance, including awards from the Japan Automobile Recycling Promotion Center (July 2022) and the Director of the Chiba Regional Transport Bureau (November 2023).
